Per reports, Atlético Madrid executive Mateu Alemany flew to Germany to engage in talks for Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka.
The Germany international is a free agent at the end of the season, but rumors indicate that Atlético Madrid might want to bring in Goretzka during this transfer window rather than waiting until the summer. Of course, the LaLiga powerhouse would have to pay a fee to get Goretzka now, which could be a detriment to getting a deal done.
If Goretzka was to leave, it would
limit the Bayern Munich central midfield group to Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlović, and Tom Bischof as primary options, with Raphaël Guerreiro as an alternative as well. Youngsters like David Santos Daiber, Felipe Chávez, and Bara Sapoko Ndiaye could also be options, but lack the experience that might be needed down the stretch this season.
So, what should Bayern Munich do? Should it keep Goretzka to help with depth as the team makes a run at a treble or sell him now and get some cash while it can?
