Yahoo Sports | Alexander Wilson: It’s been a relatively quiet off-season thus far for the Bronx Bombers. But a report out of Japan hints that may not be the case much longer. The Yankees, if Nikkan Sports is
accurate, “will be fully involved in the bidding” for 27-year-old Japanese ace Tatsuya Imai. The price tag for Imai could well exceed $150 million, if projections can be trusted. But, as the article wonders, can the Yankees afford to go into 2026 without another high-level starting pitcher, considering Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodón will both start the season on the injured list?
MLB Trade Rumors | Nick Deeds: Speaking of high-level starting pitching, New York has been steadily linked to former Yankee Michael King. Unsurprisingly, so are a bevy of other clubs. In some cases, those calls are coming from inside the house… or inside the division, at least. Among the teams vying for the right-hander are the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles (they were initially reported as finalists but later clarified as just top contenders). It would be a less than ideal outcome to miss out on King and have him land in the AL East. I would be… annoyed.
New York Post | Bridget Reilly: Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has been going through it recently, with stretch of mediocre play. To annoy Eagles fans ever more, Hurts showed up before Sunday’s game rocking a Yankees cap. Unsurprisingly, the social media responses from many Eagles fans were, uh, unsupportive of Hurts’s choice, though many were surprisingly sanuine about it, given the Philly sports fan reputation. Considering the Eagles won 31-0 to steady a rickety ship, perhaps they should encourage their Super Bowl MVP QB to wear Yankees gear more often.
