Barcelona look to take another big step towards clinching the La Liga title when they welcome Celta Vigo for a midweek clash at Camp Nou.
Here’s how we think Hansi Flick will line up his troops for Wednesday’s battle:
Defense
Barça have had a full week to recover physically and mentally after the European exit in Madrid, and Flick will be able to choose his strongest team for this one to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.
We think the starting lineup for this one will be pretty similar to the one that
played against Atlético, but we do expect one change at the back as Pau Cubarsí returns after missing the Champions League game through suspension, and he’ll partner Gerard Martín at center-back with Jules Kounde and João Cancelo retaining their full-back spots.
Midfield
The full week off may help Frenkie de Jong’s case as the Dutchman looks to return to the starting lineup, but Gavi is looking really good right now and we think he’ll be picked ahead of Frenkie to partner Pedri in the double pivot. Dani Olmo appears to be the current starter in the number 10 role, and we think he’ll stay in the XI for this one.
Attack
Ferran Torres has scored three goals in the last two games and is very much a player who relies on his confidence to continue playing well, so we think Flick will keep Ferran as the starter up top ahead of Robert Lewandowski in this one. Marcus Rashford looks very much like a bench option right now and Fermín López should be good to go with a mask and will likely start on the left, and Lamine Yamal will complete the lineup looking to cotninue his amazing form.
Possible XI: Joan; Kounde, Cubarsí, Martín, Cancelo; Gavi, Pedri; Yamal, Olmo, Fermín; Ferran (4-2-3-1)
