The Las Vegas Raiders started free agency with a bang by trading Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens. The team received two first-round picks in exchange for Crosby, but the trade fell apart. When the star edge rusher landed in Baltimore, the Ravens franchise decided that his injury to his knee wasn’t worth the investment.
Since then, Crosby has displayed his loyalty to the Raiders, exhibiting all the signs he will suit up for the Silver and Black in 2026. During this year’s annual league meeting,
Klint Kubiak sat down with Judy Batista of NFL Network. He feels that getting Crosby back on the football team was similar to a free-agent signing.
“I think John (Spytek) said this, but it’s kind of like he never left. I felt like we picked up another free-agent signing once we got him back from Baltimore. Really excited about him leading our defense.”
Kubiak believes that Crosby will be ready by training camp, but would not be surprised if he rejoins earlier.
“I know there’s gonna be a point in training camp where we’re going to get him back,” Kubiak said. “I’m not gonna get too much further into that. I think training camp, he’ll be back ready to roll. With the way that he works, it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s ready earlier.”
Crosby’s return is huge for the defense, and Kubiak understands his impact on the football team. The defense is an offense’s best friend, and having elite players on the other side of the ball will help Kubiak win time of possession and score more points.
