Former Blue Devil Kyrie Irving missed all of last season after an ACL injury on March 3, 2025, but he’s been rehabbing and will be back on the court with fellow Brotherhood members Cooper Flagg and Dereck Lively.
An ACL requires intense physical therapy and a lengthy recovery period
He’s said that he’s ready and the general comments people have made suggest that he is. However, we haven’t seen any first-hand confirmation of that until now.
Michael Porter, currently with the Brooklyn Nets, played some
ball with Irving and came away impressed. Here’s what he said:
“I was hooping with him yesterday, and this is off of his ACL. That dude was so cold, bro. I couldn’t believe how he was moving out there. And he was getting to the lane; there’s all footers in there, and he somehow was with the left. Bro, it was nutty. It was crazy.”
Sounds like Irving is ready to go, and with targets like Flagg and Lively, who missed most of last season as well but who is apparently on target to return soon, the Mavs should be fun.
Incidentally, Lively believes he’s grown another couple of inches and may now be as much as 7-3.
