Oba Femi is one of WWE’s many NXT call-ups, but unlike Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, and Jordynne Grace, the former NXT Champion has yet to make Raw or SmackDown his home. From the looks of it, WWE may continue to drag that mystery out a little longer.
WWE’s website lists Femi as a “free agent,” alongside Brock Lesnar and Omos. It’s a curious label given that free agents in actual sports don’t just pop up on other teams to see how it feels. Nonetheless, Femi’s status brings back memories of another
legend who once refused to commit to a single residence.
In the 1990s, WCW billed Sid Vicious as being “from anywhere he darn well pleases.” While Parts Unknown suited other enigmatic figures, Sid’s hometown accentuated his violent, untethered persona — a free spirit loyal to no one but himself and a man who claimed to rule the world.
For someone called “The Ruler,” Femi’s lack of commitment suggests he’s content ruling everywhere. Wipe out the War Raiders on Raw? Absolutely. Serve Kit Wilson a big helping of squash on SmackDown? Yes, and seconds, please.
The good news is that Femi isn’t the only beast roaming free in WWE’s jungle. While fellow free agent Omos towers over AAA in Mexico, Brock Lesnar remains a wandering force after being eliminated from this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble. With WrestleMania approaching, a clash between WWE’s past and future powerhouses feels inevitable.
And if both men remain free to travel, that means their paths could cross at any time. Such unpredictable encounters could lead to some must-see moments across WWE’s two main shows while building toward a monstrous showdown and elevating Femi in the process.
