Indiana men’s basketball head coach Darian DeVries addressed the media for his usual pregame press conference on Friday afternoon ahead of the Hoosiers’ matchup at Illinois on Sunday.
With the Fighting
Illini looking to potentially have Kylan Boswell back, the matchup may be even tougher than anticipated. Indiana’s Lamar Wilkerson has been on a hot streak as of late, leading the Hoosiers to wins over UCLA, Wisconsin and Oregon as one of the top scorers in the Big Ten. Boswell, Illinois’ top perimeter defender, will look to provide a counter should he play.
Illinois boasts one of the most efficient offenses in the history of college basketball metrics, per KenPom and has plenty of size that gives opposing offenses fits.
DeVries was asked about Wilkerson, how Tucker DeVries has played and adapted as of late, Sam Alexis’ usage in the offense, Conor Enright’s energy on the court, what concerns him about Illinois as a matchup and more.
