Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon is one of Europe’s hottest transfer prospects right now.
With Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool in the mix for his signature, and multiple other clubs rumored to be linked with the star winger, this was always going to be a brawl.
Until now…maybe.
Bayern Munich might be in the driver’s seat, if the news from transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri is true. Tavolieri (via @iMiaSanMia) is reporting that Gordon is open to a move to Bayern Munich and
additional talks between the German power and the English attacker’s camp are being planned:
Anthony Gordon has told his entourage that he would be open to a move to FC Bayern. The Englishman sees a move to Munich as a logical step up in his career, inspired by Michael Olise’s success, who left the Premier League for Germany and quickly managed to adapt and perform. Bayern are planning further meetings with Gordon’s representatives in the coming weeks in order to discuss personal terms. Newcastle expect Gordon to leave and are already looking for a replacement. At the moment, no potential transfer fee has been mentioned – the discussions are still at an early stage regarding that aspect of the deal.
BFW Commentary
It is wonderful to note that the player is hungry for success and feels ready to take the next step. Furthermore, it seems as if Gordon wishes to emulate the incredible Michael Olise, who could be a top three Ballon d’Or candidate in the eyes of most people with a lick of football IQ.
With players like Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Luis Díaz serving as a blueprint for players from the Premier League succeeding in the Bundesliga, Anthony Gordon might fancy his chances at playing at the highest level and competing for a treble every season at Bayern.
Per some reports, Bayern has already had talks with Gordon’s representatives and per Tavolieri, additional meetings are being planned. If Newcastle in the hunt for a replacement, this might soon become reality.
Of course, there might be the tiny issue of the transfer fee, which no doubt can be expected to be massive, but if Bayern is committed, if the scouts believe in his abilities, and if he is keen to move to Bavaria…
GET IT DONE!
Also, sliding this stat in there: Anthony Gordon has 10 goals and 2 assists in 12 Champions League appearances this season. You want a big game player? Thou mightst him have.
