The Los Angeles Chargers are finishing the regular season in the loss column with a 19-3 loss against the Denver Broncos inside Empower Field at Mile High.
With the loss, the Chargers finished the regular
season with an 11-6 record, giving them the No. 7 seed in the AFC playoff picture. This means they will face the second-seeded New England Patriots, who are 14-3 this season, but do not have the tiebreaker against the Broncos.
The Chargers will go into Wild Card Weekend well-rested because most of the starters did not play against the Broncos. The offense did its best, but simply had no answer for Denver’s defense on the road.
Quarterback Trey Lance subbed in for the resting Justin Herbert and threw 136 yards and an interception. He also had 69 rushing yards to lead the team. Keenan Allen led the team in receiving with seven catches for 36 yards.
The league will soon announce the dates and times for the Chargers’ playoff game, which will take place sometime between Saturday and Monday.
