Michigan Football is almost back, with the season kicking off against New Mexico on Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m. The game can be viewed on NBC, but if you are driving in your car or just simply like listening to the games on the radio better, you’re going to have to check your dial (if those still exist) to be able to tune in.
In case you forgot — like I did before being reminded by the radio station on social media earlier this week — or have not heard, radio broadcasts for Michigan Athletics will now be on 94.7-WCSX-FM
starting this fall. WCSX will air all football, men’s basketball and ice hockey games, while select women’s basketball games will air on 105.1 The Bounce (WMGC-FM), a sister station of WCSX.
Additionally, coaches’ shows and exclusive Michigan Athletics programming will also be featured on WCSX. According to the press release, “Fans can look forward to weekly Athletics features, exclusive interviews, and digital content that goes beyond traditional play-by-play — bringing the U of M spirit to listeners every day of the week.”
“When it comes to college athletics, no brand is bigger and no fan base is more passionate than the University of Michigan,” said Kevin Rich, Vice President of Operations, Beasley Media Group. “We’re thrilled to partner with the University and Michigan Sports Properties to bring top-tier programming and play-by-play coverage to fans across Southeast Michigan. Go Blue!”
If you don’t have a radio and still want to listen, you can stream all games at wcsx.com, on the WCSX app, the TuneIn app, or the iHeart Radio app.
Doug Karsch — who also is the host of “Karsch and Anderson” on Detroit sports station 97.1 The Ticket — will continue calling the plays alongside former Michigan All-American and color commentator Jon Jansen.
So whether you’re tailgating in Ann Arbor, grilling in the backyard or just running errands around town, don’t forget that you can catch every snap of every Michigan Football game — now in crystal clear FM radio — on 94.7 WCSX.
