Bayern Munich attacker Serge Gnabry has had a….resurgence….this season and continued his strong play with a brace in the team’s 4-0 victory over Union Berlin in the Bundesliga.
Gnabry’s effort was good enough to capture 65% of the fan vote and for the Germany international to be named Man of the Match:
For the season, Gnabry now has 10 goals and 10 assists in 34 games across all competitions. Most of Gnabry’s activity this
season has been as an attacking midfielder, but against the Iron Ones, Gnabry started at left wind in place of suspended superstar Luis Díaz.
Michael Olise and Harry Kane also had strong offensive showings, while Jonas Urbig turned in a clean sheet — the first shutout home win in the Bundesliga since November.
On a day where a few players could have been considered, Gnabry’s star shined the brightest in the eyes of fans. Gnabry’s transition from starting winger to multi-purpose attacker has gone extremely well — and likely has shocked many fans, who had already started to write him off.
