Roma will look to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Lille on Thursday by continuing their strong start in Serie A against Fiorentina in Tuscany. In this match, Roma gets a boost with Paulo Dybala
back in the squad, as La Joya was included in the trip to Florence. Although Dybala just returned to full training on Friday and won’t start, he could provide a spark off the bench.
That means it will be another start for the duo of Matías Soulé and Lorenzo Pellegrini in the attacking midfield. And somewhat surprisingly, Artem Dovbyk is being tipped to lead the line despite his double penalty miss against Lille.
After coming off the bench against the French side, Manu Koné is expected to return to his regular starting role alongside Bryan Cristante in the central midfield. One position where Gasperini’s decision will be forced is at left wing-back, with Angeliño ruled out due to the flu. That means another start for Kostas Tsimikas, whose giveaway led to Lille’s early goal on Thursday. Meanwhile, Devyne Rensch could be given a chance to start from the opening whistle.
In defense, Gianluca Mancini will return to the starting XI. He’ll join Evan Ndicka and Zeki Çelik who also started on Thursday.
Probable Formation
ROMA (3-4-2-1): Svilar; Çelik, Mancini, Ndicka; Rensch, Koné, Cristante, Tsimikas; Soulé, Pellegrini; Dovbyk.
