Per multiple reports, things could be moving quickly between Bayern Munich and PSV Eindhoven winger / attacking midfielder Ismael Saibari.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano first reported the news:
🚨🔴⚪️ EXCLUSIVE: FC Bayern open talks with Ismael Saibari as potential new winger!
Discussions started after Gordon deal off, Saibari is appreciated and waiting to understand pricing from PSV.
Saibari, keen on joining Bayern this summer.
PSV will be looking for a big transfer fee for Saibari according to
Eindhovens Dagblad (via @iMiaSanMia):
Bayern are indeed considering a move for Ismael Saibari. The Moroccan is open to the move. Agreeing personal terms will not be an issue. PSV are looking to get a ‘gigantic fee’ for the Eredivisie player of the season, and are referring to the €60m demanded by AZ for midfielder Kees Smit.
Bayern Munich could seek to lean on its relationship with the PSV executive team to get an advantageous deal on Saibari per Dutch outlet De Telegraaf (as captured by @iMiaSanMia):
Bayern’s interest in Ismael Saibari is serious. The player’s agent Ali Dursun neither denied nor confirmed when asked today. Bayern will have to put a ‘substantial sum’ on the table to get the deal done. PSV argue that if AZ are demanding €60m for Kees Smit, then Saibari, as the best player in the Eredivisie, should cost at least that amount as well. PSV have done business with Bayern on several occasions in recent years (Wanner, Tillman) meaning that the people in charge know each other well.
According to Dutch transfer journalist Mounir Boualin (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich is set to make an opening bid on the attacker:
Bayern are preparing an initial bid to PSV for Ismael Saibari. It is expected that this first offer will be sent to Eindhoven soon. After that, things could move very quickly. Bayern’s intention is to close the deal before the World Cup. The German champions are fully convinced of Saibari’s qualities.
With Bayern Munich seeking to add a winger, this could be interesting, but could be at a price point that the Bavarians consider to be too risky based on recent reports. This season, Saibari has 19 goals and nine assists in 37 games across all competitions for PSV Eindhoven. Saibari played 2,977 minutes as well.
