Deportivo have confirmed that midfielder Marc Casado has undergone surgery after suffering a fractured collarbone during Sunday’s game with Real Betis.
Casado was forced off in the first half of the match and was heard saying “it’s broken” as he made his way off the pitch.
Deportivo have offered an update and confirmed that the Barcelona loanee has already gone under the knife.
“Marc Casadó underwent surgery at the HM Modelo Hospital in A Coruña by traumatologist Rafael Arriaza for a fracture in his
right clavicle.His evolution will mark his return to competition,” read a club statement.
The injury means that Casado will now spend some time out of action recovering from the injury.
However, the setback does at least come at a good time as La Liga has paused due to the international break. Deportivo’s first game back is against Real Sociedad on October 10th.
Let’s hope Casado’s recovery is smooth and he can return to action quickly.
