Coming off an opening week 20-12 win on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Los Angeles Rams return home and roll out the welcome mat for the New Orleans Saints. The Week 2 matchup at SoFi Stadium is set for Saturday August 22, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. PST.
It will be a long week for the Saints, along with Week 2 of the NFL preseason, they will have participated in two controlled scrimmages this week. They took on the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday and are mixing it up with the Rams today.
New Orleans second-year coach Kellen Moore approaches preseason games similarly to L.A. head man Sean McVay, he sits a lot of his contributors and generally puts the bottom half of his roster into action. The Rams took it a bit farther and did not play 41 players.
Hard to put a finger on how this game will play out, with all the bottom of the roster players involved, there’s reason to think it could recede into a mistake-filled snooze fest. That said, both teams are still in the process of settling quarterback food chains, including QB#2. The Saints aired it out 42 in Week 1 while the Rams threw it 31, fans could see a passing shoot out.
Here’s how to follow the game!
