Anthony Joshua didn’t have anywhere near his best night in the ring, but he knocked out Jake Paul in the sixth round of their Netflix main event in Miami.
Joshua (29-4, 25 KO) was fighting for the first time in 15 months and coming off of a loss to Daniel Dubois. Paul (13-2, 7 KO) set out to avoid Joshua from the opening bell, but eventually ran out of gas and became target practice for the former heavyweight champ and 2012 Olympic gold medalist.
In all, an exhausted Paul — who also says he broke his
jaw — was down twice in the fifth round and twice more in the sixth, and it was clear by the fourth the wheels were really coming off for him, despite his best effort to implement a stick-and-move strategy that mainly amounted to “move.”
