The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing former New England Patriots linebacker Marte Mapu to their practice squad, per Aaron Wilson.
Mapu appeared in all 17 games a season ago for the Patriots, playing largely in a special teams role. He has an interception in each of the last three seasons, and he has forced five fumbles since 2023. He was drafted in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft by New England.
The Steelers had an abysmal performance at the linebacker position in Week 4, withSteelers linebackers
missing a combined five tackles. Through four weeks, Pittsburgh has the third-most missed tackles in the league.
