Jake Paul helped MVP merge with John Martin and PFL.
The new organization, which is expected to launch in early 2027 under the MVP banner, is positioning itself as a major threat to Dana White and UFC. Then again, PFL already tried to convince fans it was the “co-leader of MMA” before firing everyone who made those ridiculous claims.
“I don’t know anything about what they’re doing,” White told The Mac Life. “It probably makes sense when shit isn’t working for anybody, they should all probably get together.
Let’s take two organizations that don’t sell tickets and nobody watches and let’s merge them together and make a bigger company that won’t sell tickets and nobody will watch.”
White had a similar reaction to PFL acquiring Bellator MMA back in late 2023.
“Listen, I’ve said this a hundred times and I’m f—— around,” White added. “I don’t look at any of those guys as our competition. We’re on a whole other f—— stratosphere now. I mean, I’m competing with all the majors. Those guys aren’t my competition so good luck to them all. I wish them all the best.”
All except Bjork Rebney.
MVP did a one-off MMA event on Netflix back in May, to great success, and PFL is currently airing its MMA product on ESPN. That said, Paul and Co. have yet to find a streaming home for their new endeavor, which could prove to be a major factor in how much (if any) competition they pose to UFC
UFC recently signed a Paramount content deal worth more than $7 billion.
