Jake Paul and Ronda Rousey, who helped Netflix generate record-breaking numbers for MVP MMA
back in May, took a victory lap after the UFC White House event earlier this month in Washington, DC.Unfortunately for them, the ratings race wasn’t over.
UFC today announced the Freedom 250 fight card pulled a whopping 34 million global viewers, with several countries — including France (Ciryl Gane) and Spain (Ilia Topuria) — yet to report their final tally, which means that number could significantly increase
over the next few weeks.
That’s more than double the “Rousey vs. Carano” tally on Netflix (sorry Jake).
Freedom 250 reached 17 million total viewers and averaged 8.2 million viewers in the United States and Latin America alone.
The event also amassed 126 billion total views on social media, 5 billion engagements, and 536,000 new followers. UFC was the top trend throughout fight night on June 14, occupying eight of the top 10 trending positions.
UFC will have an opportunity to generate another batch of impressive numbers when Conor McGregor, the sport’s top draw, makes his long-awaited return to the cage atop the UFC 329 fight card next month in Las Vegas, barring any last-minute catastrophes.
