On New Year’s Eve as the Spurs hosted the New York Knicks, Stephon Castle dished out seven dimes, pushing him over the 100 mark.
The milestone summoned the name of Johnny Moore, a legendary Spurs player.
“With 7 assists last night, @stephcastle became the fastest Spur since Johnny Moore to reach 500 assists and 100 steals 🔥“
500 points? Castle has over 1600 points in his 105 games. Moore wouldn’t reach that mark until his third season.
Moore averaged 4.8 assists per game in his rookie season and an impressive 9.6 per game in his second year, when he led the league in dimes.
You tack on Julian Champagnie’s career and franchise record-setting night in threes as well as naming Mitch Johnson as Western Conference Coach of the Month, and December should go down in the history books.
