Name a better attacking duo in world football than Michael Olise and Harry Kane.
I’ll wait.
Hey, it’s been a while… no answer? Yeah, thought so.
Harry Kane is the current Ballon d’Or favourite for the 2025/26 season, while Michael Olise has had the best start of any player in the 2026/27 season, with 12 goal contributions (!!!) already in just 7 games (Transfermarkt). The winger has started his campaign in the best way possible and is already getting early shouts for the Ballon d’Or next year.
Harry
Kane has been sensational for Bayern Munich since he joined 3 seasons ago and feels lucky to be playing with the superstar RW. In a recent interview with Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), the English striker waxes lyrical of Olise. “He has made an incredible start to the season. I already thought he was fantastic last year. He had a great World Cup and has continued seamlessly from there. I believe that, thanks to his age and his mentality, he will continue to improve,” stated Kane, with confidence.
Olise might have had the best 2025/26 campaign of any winger: Champions League semi-finalist with some tremendous big-game moments, World Cup single campaign assist record holder with 7 assists in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal Champion… that is one hell of a résumé for a single season.
Kane added that “The players around him motivate him, and of course, so does the coach. He is in an excellent environment to improve and continue developing. Since the start of the season, he has raised his level significantly once again.” Amen.
Olise is looking unstoppable, fresh off of a hat trick against Union Berlin, which also saw him register an assist, and receive a spotless 10/10 rating from Sofascore (the only player this season to already have 2 perfect games, one against Berlin and the other against Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League).
“We need him because he is an important player for us. It was great to see him smiling after scoring his first hat-trick. I think he was proud of it – and rightly so. I really enjoy playing alongside Michael, and I also appreciate him as a person. We get along extremely well off the pitch, too,” concluded Harry Kane.
Strength to strength. Olise keeps getting better.
Is this the greatest peak of any winger not named Ronaldo or Messi in football history?
Time will tell… a Champions League trophy could be exactly what the doctor prescribed.
