Thunder Rosa is back from injury. La Mera Mera won her return match in AEW, however, it was Thekla who stole the spotlight from her.
Thunder Rosa was out for 224 days after suffering an injury in the Casino Gauntlet at All In: Texas. She returned to the Graveyards of Tijuana to recuperate. Thunder returned for a quick promo on Dynamite to call out Thekla for the AEW Women’s World Championship. On Collision (Feb. 21, 2026), Thunder was in singles action against Julia Hart.
Thunder pulled out the win by blocking a moonsault and pouncing for the Fire Thunder Driver.
After the match, Thekla stood in the crowd to cut a charismatic promo mocking Thunder as a potential challenger. She referred to Thunder as, “One of the greatest women in AEW, and one of the dumbest bitches alive.” Thekla wondered is Thunder had a death wish to come for her after being out 8 months.
Backstage, Thekla doubled down with cockiness. She can’t wait to make Kris Statlander bleed again and injure Thunder again. The title belt is going nowhere.
Thunder’s victory in return from injury was a nice story, however, Thekla overshadowed her with aura. Based on the direction, it seems like Thunder will get the next crack at Thekla. This is the Toxic Spider’s world now, so La Mera Mera will likely be a speed bump on the current title run. Knocking down a former world champion is a good notch to build Thekla’s reign. Thekla deserves the chance to see how high her star power can rise.
