As the Kentucky Wildcats prepare for Tuesday’s opener vs. Nicholls, Denzel Aberdeen and Jaland Lowe remain questionable to play.
According to Jon Rothstein, head coach Mark Pope said that he’s unsure if
Aberdeen or Lowe will be available for the first game of the 2025-26 season.
Aberdeen is battling what’s believed to be a minor leg issue, while Lowe is recovering from a partially dislocated shoulder. The hope was that Aberdeen would just miss the Georgetown exhibition game for precautionary reasons, but it sounds like he’s in real danger of missing the opener.
Meanwhile, the hope for Lowe was that he’d be back in time for next Tuesday’s matchup with the Louisville Cardinals. Ideally, he’d play one of the two games this week — either Tuesday vs. Nicholls or Friday vs. Valparaiso — but that’s far from a given.
Here’s to hoping both are back in time for next week’s in-state showdown.
