After receiving a temporary restraining order granted in the state of California lawsuit against the NCAA, fifth-year guard Ines Bettencourt is back with the Gonzaga Bulldogs for one more ride.
The Zags also released their 2026-27 roster, showing Bettencourt had to change her jersey number to No. 0. Newest junior guard Jocelyn Medina, who transferred in from the Denver Pioneers, is now wearing her old No. 8 jersey number.
In her senior campaign with Gonzaga, the 5-9 native of Sao Miguel, Portugal, averaged 6.3 points on a shooting split of 34.4 field goal percentage/31.8 three-point percentage/71.1 free throw percentage, 3.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 steals in 33 starts.
She played for the Zags over the past two seasons, from 2024 to 2026. Before that, Bettencourt competed for coach Geno Auriemma and the UConn Huskies during her first two seasons of college basketball.
Coach Lisa Fortier’s group will consist of 13 players, 10 of whom were rotation players last season. Two roster spots are still available, just in case some late additions fill in.
This team is deep across the board and has championship aspirations as they head into their first school year as part of the Pac-12 Conference, led by redshirt sophomore forward Lauren Whittaker and junior guard Allie Turner.
