What a terrible football game we just watched. The Tennessee Titans had a chance to win this game despite only getting one first down in the first half, but Cam Ward threw a terrible interception to end the game. This offense is just abysmal. It’s not all on Ward, but he was really bad today. The Giants should have picked him off 3 times.
On the last offensive play, Ward has to know the situation. He had plenty of room in front of him. The Titans had two timeouts. There is no reason to try and force
a throw there.
What is it about this franchise that makes offensive football so difficult? It’s been a problem through different general managers, different head coaches, and different quarterbacks. Paul Kuharsky talks about the DNA of the franchise. Joe Rexrode makes fun of him for it on Robby and Rexrode all the time. The idea seems ridiculous, but maybe there is something to it.
There are also a lot of game management questions with Robert Saleh. The field goal attempt at the end of the first half in those conditions. The timeout that had to be taken on defense coming out of a Giants timeout. This guy is not a first-year head coach. Those types of things simply cannot happen.
It is hard to watch this team play every week.
