The New Orleans Saints are hitting the road in Week 13 as they visit the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Here’s a look at what either outcome could potentially mean for the black and gold.
If the Saints win
A victory on Sunday would mean an offensive bounce-back after the Saints struggled at times to move the ball or take advantage of scoring positions last week against Atlanta.
A fair share of the season’s nine defeats could’ve gone either way. Many may expect Sunday to be a similar story. If the game is close down the stretch,
it gives Tyler Shough another chance to stamp a strong impression as he continues his rookie campaign.
Moreover, a win against a turnover-prone Miami team could be strongly helped by the defense. Regardless, a win would put New Orleans at 2-1 in their last three games before they turn back to NFC South competition.
If the Saints lose
A loss drops the black and gold to 2-10, with many fans taking the improved draft position as a silver lining.
Defeat hasn’t often come as a big surprise throughout the season, but there’s always plenty to look out for beyond the scoreboard. Regardless of the outcome, limiting penalties and unforced errors are among the things Saints fans will be hoping to see, as well as strong play from the rookie quarterback.
