Week 6 had two massive upsets in Penn State losing at previously winless UCLA, and Texas falling to the Florida Gators in Gainesville. Meanwhile, Alabama and Miami picked up good wins against ranked opponents.
We are just shy of the midway point in the 2025 season and both the #1 and #2 preseason ranked teams are no longer ranked in the top 25. That’s the type of year it’s been in college football.

Six teams each rose five spots, and all in a row. Missouri went from #19 to #14, and the five teams immediately following them jumped five spots as well: Michigan, Notre Dame, Illinois, BYU, and Virginia. The Miami Hurricanes climbed one spot after their impressive win in Tallahassee. Penn State fell the furthest, going from #7 to unranked. Just following the Nittany Lions is Texas, falling from #9 to unranked. Memphis joined the top 25 for the first time this season at #23, and USF is back in at #24. Week 7 has three top 25 matchups: #1 Ohio State at #17 Illinois, #8 Alabama at #14 Missouri, #7 Indiana at #3 Oregon.
