Tari Eason bet on himself this past offseason, turning down a $100 million contract with the Rockets because the team put in an injury clause. He elected to play this year without a new deal and see what restricted free agency could bring. And while Eason’s defense has slipped immensely,
as he having the worst defensive season of his career (not a plus defender in 2025-2026), he at least started out the year shooting red hot from deep. But now that his long-range shooting has come back to Earth, and his defense is still bad, combined with the immense injury concerns, Eason may have just played himself out of a big deal.
The Rockets are still high on Eason, but who knows if another team is going to offer a deal, and if they do, do the Rockets match? How much do they still value Eason after a down year that just also so happens to be contract year?
This week’s question wants to know if you expect Eason back with the Rockets next season?
