We knew the news was not good on Will Johnson, and the team moved quickly in placing him on the injured reserve and in turn, promoting Star Thomas off the practice squad.

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has signed cornerback Starling Thomas V to the active roster from the practice squad and has placed cornerback Will Johnson on injured reserve.
In addition, the team signed defensive lineman Jay Toia (TOE-ee-yah) to the practice squad.
The signings took
place today at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Center in Tempe, AZ.
Toia (6-2, 340) played five games with the Cowboys last season and had four tackles after entering the league with Dallas as a seventh-round selection (217th overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft out of UCLA. As a senior at UCLA in 2024, Toia was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection after collecting 25 tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack while starting all 12 games.
Toia will wear jersey #92.
