On Monday the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Houston Texans 27-19 at Lumen Field to keep pace with the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West ahead of having Week 8 off thanks to the bye week.
However, while the Seahawks won’t be on the field during Week 8, they are in the news, as the NFL levied a $14,491 fine on third year wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba following his dunk over the goalpost after hauling in a touchdown pass on the final play of the first quarter.
Corbin Smith of Emerald City Spectrum shared the impact of Smith-Njigba’s dunk on the alignment of the goalposts in a tweet from the game, for those wondering in part why the NFL prohibits exactly what JSN didn.
And as Aaron Wilson notes in the post, Texans defensive back Derek Stingley was also fined $11,593 for his actions during the game.
