With only one game since the final bye week of the regular season, the No. 17 Texas Longhorns don’t have a lengthy injury report on Wednesday heading into Saturday’s rivalry game against the Arkansas Razorbacks at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
In the wake of a Monday report that Texas junior linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. suffered a broken hand in the loss to Georgia, the team’s leading tackler was listed as questionable on the Wednesday injury report, putting his availability for the Arkansas
game into doubt.
Sophomore wide receiver Ryan Wingo is probable after suffering an undisclosed injury in Athens, although Sarkisian expressed optimism about the potential availability of both players during his Monday press conference.
Clearly, Wingo is on a more positive trajectory than Hill in that regard heading into Thursday’s practice.
Beyond the seven players ruled out by the Razorbacks, running back Braylen Russell and defensive end Charlie Collins are both listed as questionable. The second-team contributors for Arkansas both missed the loss to LSU last weekend coming out of a bye week.
The bruising Russell has 55 carries for 286 yards and five touchdowns this season with 20 carries and five touchdowns coming in the red zone, where he’s averaging 4.4 yards per carry with six first downs.
The backup to star edge Quincy Rhodes Jr., Collins has nine tackles, one tackle for loss, and three stops over 164 snaps this season.
