The Los Angeles Chargers are facing off against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8 at SoFi Stadium fresh off the bye.
The Chargers have lost their first six games and are the only winless team left in the league. However, the Chargers can turn things around with a win against the crosstown rival Rams. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Chargers are an underdog by 6.5 points. Let’s take a look at some predictions for the game.
Over/Under: 45.5
Only one game the Chargers have played this season has had more than 45.5 points. That
came against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4. The Chargers’ offense has not been up to par, scoring 17 points or fewer in all but one game this year. The Rams should have a boost from the crowd, which will be unfortunate to deal with while the Chargers are also at their home stadium, but it’s hard to imagine the Los Angeles “bowl” as a barnburner.

Chargers +6.5
Fanduel is giving the Chargers a touchdown to work with, and they are coming off a bye week when they were able to get some much-needed rest. The Rams are coming into this game knowing they need to keep their foot on the gas after their blowout win against the Las Vegas Raiders last week, when they won 35-21. This win will put the Rams at 5-0 if they can get to it. I’m expecting a focused Rams team against the Chargers, which will likely result in a multi-score victory for the Rams.
Prediction: Rams -6.5
Final Score
It wouldn’t surprise me if the Chargers came out of the gates with a score or two, but given how they have performed throughout the season, it’s hard to imagine that this is the week they break their spell of bad luck.
