An interesting thing happened today that I would classify as abnormal in the NFL world — as far as the Denver Broncos are concerns anyway.
The team played terrible and were lackluster during a blowout road loss in Week 1, which led a lot of fans and bloggers to bemoan specific issues like missed tackles. It would appear Alex Singleton’s agent had a problem with that and took to X to air out that dirty laundry.
I didn’t personally partake in whatever triggered this response, but my advice to Paul would
be to inform his clients that the best way to avoid rage baiting is to just play better. Show heart. Play hard. Look like you care. All three of those things didn’t seem to show up on Monday night and that’s likely why fans are irritated this week.
We can handle a bad game. It’s the lackluster effort that triggers the negative reactions you didn’t like. Many of us probably thought it would be hard to beat Kansas City in their house. None of us expected to see such pitiful effort to make tackles drive after drive.

To wrap up today’s roundup, there was an interesting quote from Sean Payton today. He was asked about Davis Webb’s debut and Payton took a little of the heat off the first-time signal caller saying, “There was dirt on a ton of people’s hands, including me.”
The other aspect to that is he was going up against Steve Spagnuolo who is one of the great defensive coordinators of the era. He stole Webb’s lunch and bullied him all game long. We’ll see how Webb responds against a more inexperience coordinator opponent this week in Anthony Campanile who is entering his second season as an NFL defensive coordinator.
