Tis the season for mockery. No, the long-hoped for Make Some Noise x Whose Line Is It Anyway crossover hasn’t occurred beyond Wayne Brady, but with the MLB Draft just a day away, we’ve collected a round-up of mock drafts for readers to consider and compare the expertise of. As the prominent writings from minor league and prospect writing outlets are often subscription-based outlets we wish to support (and I personally do with subscriptions and/or memberships I strongly encourage for those who appreciate
thoughtful primary sourcing in your baseball writing), we won’t be scraping the writeups here, but offering a quick snapshot of who and what is being expected and projected for the Seattle Mariners.
You can also view our staff mock draft, published this morning, right here.
Baseball America ($)
As of 7/8/2026: RHP Tegan Kuhns
BA will likely drop another mock between the time I’m publishing this and the time you’re reading this, and possibly another between the time you’ve started reading and you’ve finished. Bless their hearts, this is what they are all about. This is for their 6.0 mock.
Baseball Prospectus ($)
As of 7/8/2026: SS Justin Lebron, Alabama (sort of)
BP doesn’t typically do mock drafts, but they have shared their finalized draft board in ranked order. Lebron is 24th, ergo, et viola.
ESPN ($)
As of 5/29/2026: OF Derek Curiel, Louisiana State
While ESPN has a more recent (June 18th) mock draft done by Kiley McDaniel based on his perspective for who each team should select, the late-May prognostication is their most recent variation of a projection for their expectation based on sourcing as of publishing. It’s likely a fresh mock will arrive either Friday or Saturday morning.
FanGraphs
As of 7/8/2026: C Ryder Helfrick, Arkansas
Eric Longenhagen leads the prospect work for our friends in green. While some mocks are an assessment of the talent as projected by the author, Longenhagen’s do seem to be a best guess at what will occur, impossible as such a thing may be in this event. He’ll unveil a final “Day Of” mock on Saturday morning.
MLB Pipeline
As of 7/2/2026: RHP Tegan Kuhns, Tennessee
Jonathan Mayo and Jim Callis have been prospect writing and scouting for ages, and will release a final mock Friday night that may shake things up. They do seem to anticipate a pitching angle based on how the draft looks to be curving. Kuhns is, perhaps notably, the only player mocked to the M’s twice by any of the outlets here.
Prospects 1500
As of 7/8/2026: RHP Liam Peterson, Florida
While this is a collaborative effort by the Prospects 1500 team, they do note that their draft was conducted “several weeks back” and therefore does not account for some recent movement, injuries, etc., although Peterson’s overall assessment appears largely unchanged specifically.
The Athletic ($)
As of 7/6/2026: OF AJ Gracia, Virginia
Of note, this comes from Keith Law who does intimate a degree of sourcing. That is, depending on your perspective, not the case for the remaining two outlets below. Law will be releasing a final mock today for Athletic subscribers.
Sports Illustrated
As of 7/8/2026: LHP Logan Schmidt, Ganesha HS (CA)
Bleacher Report
As of 7/9/2026: OF Aiden Robbins, Texas
