“El Chino” is preparing for a battle.
Surging Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) prospect Kevin Vallejos will collide with No. 11-ranked Featherweight Josh Emmett in the main event of UFC Vegas 114 this weekend (Sat., March 14, 2026) inside the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Vallejos is known as a violent finisher, boasting 12 career knockouts — eight of them coming in the first round. In fact, the hard-hitting Argentine has only gone to the judges’ scorecards three times in his career.
Now, competing
in his first UFC main event in just his fourth fight with the promotion, Vallejos is hoping to make the moment count — even if that means going the full 25 minutes for the first time in his career.
“I do think that I can knock him out – I’m not going to say that I can’t,” Vallejos told reporters during UFC Vegas 114 media day. “This is MMA. Anything can happen. He can knock me out. I can knock him out. But to be honest, I feel like this is going to be a dream come true in the sense that I want to have that dream of just having a dirty, bloody war for five rounds where we just kill each other. That’s what I’m pretty much expecting.”
While Emmett was stopped in less than two minutes in his most recent fight (watch highlights), the longtime UFC veteran has built a reputation for durability and toughness. He also holds the distinction of being one of the two fighters to take reigning Lightweight champion Ilia Topuria to the judges’ scorecards — in a five-round bout.
So if it’s a five-round war Vallejos wants, he might just get it.
“When they offered me the fight, the first thing that came to my mind was his knockout of Bryce Mitchell,” Vallejos said. “But it also filled me with excitement because it’s a huge challenge and I love fights like this. For me, I’m a huge fan of Josh, so it’s also an honor to be able to fight him — someone who is such a legend in the sport.”
