Mark Pope and his staff have begun to focus on the class of 2027 as they aim to secure several of the top players in the class. After hosting several recruits this weekend, we can now add another player to the list who has landed an offer from UK and Coach Pope.
According to Jacob Polacheck of KSR, 4-star point guard Reese Alston has landed an offer from Kentucky after his unofficial visit this weekend for Big Blue Madness. Alston also took to Twitter to share the news.
Alston, a 6-2 and 165-pound
point guard out of Houston (TX), is currently considered a top-25 prospect in the class of 27, and is ranked as a top-five point guard in the class by the 247 Sports Composite rankings.
Holding offers from Purdue, Houston, Illinois, Texas, and several others, the Kentucky offer might bring a snowball effect for other schools to join the recruitment soon.
When talking to Polacheck, Alston mentioned how the atmosphere of BBM really stood out.
“My impression was just how crazy it was,” Alston said. “It was loud and there were a lot of people. I knew John Wall was coming. It was crazy just how much they love him there.”
Sounds like the Cats are in a good spot early. Let’s see if they continue to build on it.
