Bayern Munich have won their 35th Bundesliga title. Two of these trophies were the product of Vincent Kompany’s leadership at Bayern.
Since his arrival, the team has seen many changes, almost all of which were positive. He made players feel respected while also demanding respect as the manager, gave the youth a bigger role in the first team and brought a fantastic tactical system that has yielded incredible results.
Speaking about the title, the manager stays ever humble and shifts the focus to what
matters — the games ahead. “It feels great. For me every title is the first title,” said Kompany (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
“We have to enjoy these moments because there’s a lot of hard work behind them, over many years not just this season. So we have to enjoy it when it happens,” he added, giving due respect to the work of his predecessors.
“The season is not over yet. There are still things to win. PSG in the Champions League, the defending champions, it’s probably the toughest challenge. But before that we have Leverkusen,” he declared.
The fact that the title has been secured makes life easier for Bayern, but certainly Kompany’s players aren’t going to start slacking off even if they are playing for ‘nothing’.
That is the beauty of this modern Bayern side.
