We’ve played this Wildcats team once already this year and it took all we had to walk away with this win in that one. Mikayla Blakes put up 37 in that one opposite Teonni Key’s 27, but the real story is probably Blakes and Galvan combining for 7 steals (10 total from Vandy) to Kentucky’s entire team’s 3 and our 6 total turnovers to the Wildcats’ 20. Given we were out-rebounded by 18 boards while taking 12 more shots than Kentucky, who made 56% of their shots in that game, those ratios are probably the only
way we won. We are normally the better shooting team than Kentucky, though, both in general and from beyond the arc, so I would expect this game to look a little different from the previous one. Still expect us to take the ball away early and often (Kentucky does not protect the ball well) but don’t expect Big Blue to make shots they way they did. I am thinking we win by 5 or so, as long as everyone plays their game.
