If you need further proof that WWE referee Jessika Carr is as crooked as Becky Lynch says she is, look no further than this.
After Lynch lost the Women’s Intercontinental Championship to Sol Ruca at Clash In Italy, Carr, the official in that match, shared ESPN’s post promoting Ruca’s win on X. Rubbing salt in the wound, Carr added, “Look at that, ESPN is saying it.”
For those who don’t get the dig, it’s a shot at Lynch, who kindly reminds fans
of her status as the greatest of all time, according to outlets such as Sports Illustrated.
I can’t recall a referee, official, or umpire ever publicly taking glee in an athlete’s defeat, much less in a game they called. Not even disgraced former NBA ref Tim Donaghy was that low-rent.
What makes it especially disturbing is that Carr’s poor positioning cost Lynch a victory. Carr, possibly thinking about the sights she wants to see on WWE’s current European tour, stood flat-footed in the corner as Lynch drove Ruca into the turnbuckles to set up a devastating roll-up pin.
Fearing for her life, like her name was Khan, Carr leapt from the ring. Lynch had Ruca pinned for a visual five-count before Carr stutter-stepped her way back into the ring.
Lynch and Carr have been beefing for months, with Carr at the center of Lynch losing her I.C. strap on two other occasions. As Lynch brought these injustices to light, Carr’s bias became impossible to ignore, as they engaged in heated exchanges before, during, and after matches.
With Carr openly gloating about Lynch’s defeat, one can only assume that “The Man” will take matters into her own hands because Lord knows Raw General Manager Adam Pearce — whose response to turbulent times is to say he needs a drink — won’t do a thing about it.
Hey, sometimes the best justice is vigilante justice.
But it’s not just me saying it: Frank Castle says it. The Batman says it.
