We are back for a branch new NFL season and the Denver Broncos have quite the national spotlight on them right out of the gates with a road game on Monday Night Football against their AFC West rival Kansas City Chiefs. Denver enters this season with the third-best odds to win the division, so we expect a lot of “overdog” mentality again in 2026.
According to FanDuel, the Broncos are 2.5-point road underdogs on Monday Night Football against the Chiefs in Week 1. The over/under stands at 43.5 for this
matchup.

What I would like to see from the Broncos this season is a much better and more consistent rushing attack. They needed Bo Nix to lead so many comeback wins primarily because they struggled to get favorable down and distances on too many drives over the course of the season. For that to change, they need to start getting more from their run game early in games.
Frankly, I think Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are now overrated. Their drafting has been abysmal over the last few years and while they are one of the youngest rosters in the NFL, their elite talent are aging. Young rosters are also prone to mistakes. They are still a threat to be sure, but I would have put them with the third-best odds in the AFC, not Denver. Divisional road games are tough, though, and Arrowhead Stadium will be as loud as it gets on prime time. It should be a close game either way.
