France coach Didier Deschamps has named his squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine (September 5, away) and Iceland (September 9, Paris), with Real Madrid duo Kylian Mbappé and Aurélien Tchouaméni among the notable selections.
Mbappé, who has been on fire to start the season, is expected to spearhead France’s attack — a team that is heavily favored to top Group D, which also includes Ukraine, Iceland, and Azerbaijan.
In midfield, Tchouaméni will once again be the anchor for
France. The Real Madrid star has developed into a pillar for Xabi Alonso’s team. His presence will be crucial in helping France control games and provide balance.
