In last night’s 3-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks, Houston Astros closer Josh Hader joined some elite company and put himself atop an impressive list:
The 32-year-old Hader is perhaps in the
midst of his finest season. The 6x All Star and 3x NL Reliever of the Year is currently 4-1 with a career-best 0.70 ERA and absolutely ridiculous 0.65 WHIP. He has 52K in 38.1 IP over 39 appearances, and is 23-for-23 in save opportunities this season. He has allowed only 1 HR this season.
Hader was also named AL Reliever of the Month for August. https://www.crawfishboxes.com/houston-astros-news/77774/astros-closer-josh-hader-named-al-reliever-of-the-month-for-august
Hader joins John Franco (424), Billy Wagner (422, HOF), Aroldis Chapman (391, active), Randy Myers (347) and Dave Righetti (252) as the only lefties to reach 250 career saves.
