What is the status of the Arizona Cardinals’ receiver room? GM Monti Ossenfort has done a great job at supplying this group with talent. And yet, players get hurt, and suddenly the situation becomes dire, and backups become the norm.
As long as Michael Wilson and Marv Harrison can remain vertical, the receiver group is good. Free agency brought in WR Kendrick Bourne from the San Francisco 49ers and will provide a new alternative to the slot position.

The
Cardinals lost some key role players this offseason. First off was Greg Dortch, who was a terrific slot guy. Zay Jones had his moments, but wasn’t re-signed. Now, it is up to guys like Xavier Weaver, Devin Duvernay, and Andre Baccellia.
Maybe the answer is in this year’s NFL draft, slated for April 23-25. Later, an intriguing prospect should be available in the sixth round.
Tyren Montgomery was a complete unknown until he showed up at the Senior Bowl and blew everybody away. He caught everything thrown his way. He came to this All-Star game as an undrafted prospect and now has at least a Round 6 grade and would not surprise anyone to see him go in the fifth-round.
He broke the school records for single-season catches, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. He scored 17 TDs in his final college season.
