Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl is not quite ready to reveal how things are going in the contract talks between the club and star center-back Dayot Upamecano.
When asked, Eberl revealed nothing, but did try to have fun with his response.
“[They’re taking place] in French. Très bien. I don’t know any more [French] than that. That’s why we haven’t made any progress yet,” Eberl told Abendzeitung with a laugh (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
While Eberl had a chuckle over his reply, the contract
situation has some fans on the edge of their seats. The summer of 2026 is already lining up to be a crazy period with a lot of moves and many supporters are hoping to keep the #1 center-back spot on the depth chart in place and not up for grabs in the transfer market next summer.
