Diamondbacks drop painful game in extra innings to Rangers by Alex Weiner [Arizona Sports]
The winning runs for the Texas Rangers against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday came from a comebacker that ricocheted off relief pitcher Juan Burgos and skipped into foul ground in the 10th inning.
Two runs scored, Burgos walked off with the trainer and the Diamondbacks went quietly in the bottom half. Burgos was not the only player to leave with an apparent injury, either, as left fielder Lourdes Gurriel
Jr. was carted off the field in the sixth inning after he went down holding his right leg.

Juan Burgos pitched the 10th inning, and gave up a walk. With two outs, he was hit by a comebacker that ricocheted off toward the dugout leading to two runs scoring. That’s the season it’s been for the D-backs.

Diamondbacks’ Blaze Alexander buys in playing outfield by Alex Weiner [Arizona Sports]
“First day in L.A., (Dave McKay and Torey Lovullo) approached me with the idea of moving around a little more. I’m all for it. I just want my name in the lineup. I don’t care where I play. I told (Lovullo) if he wants me to pitch, I’ll pitch. I just wanna be out there contributing.”

Braves Claim Ha-Seong Kim From Rays by Darragh McDonald [MLB Trade Rumors]
It wasn’t previously reported that Kim was on waivers, but it seems the Rays quietly put him out there to try to shed his contract. Atlanta obliged, so the Rays will get out from under that deal. Tampa signed him to a two-year, $29MM pact in the winter. He is making $13MM this year, with just under $2MM left to be paid out. The second year is a $16MM player option.
