TCU has built a steady women’s volleyball program under head coach Jason Williams. The Horned Frogs have earned a winning record and made the second round of the NCAA Tournament in each of the last four years. TCU will attempt to make the tournament for a fifth consecutive season when the 2026 season begins with a home exhibition match against Vanderbilt on Aug. 15 and a purple-white scrimmage Aug. 26. The team’s first official matches will be against Texas and UNLV in the Players Era Volleyball

Looking at the front row, the Horned Frogs welcome back their top outside hitters in Evan Hendrix (junior), Becca Kelley (redshirt junior), Lauren Murphy (senior) and Jalyn Gibson (redshirt senior). Gibson, who missed nearly the entire 2025 campaign to a knee injury, is one of the top attackers in the Big 12 when healthy. A two-time All-Big 12 selection and a two-time AVCA All-Regional choice, Gibson has amassed 893 kills, 637 digs and 182 total blocks over her four-year career with the Horned Frogs. She’ll have a chance to eclipse 1,000 in 2026.
In Gibson’s absence, Hendrix and Kelley shouldered the offensive load in 2025. Hendrix shined on the attack, earning All-Big 12 First Team honors and AVCA All-American recognition for the first time in her career. She posted a team-best 543 kills while adding 334 digs and 50 total blocks. Kelley, a former Oregon transfer, enters her third year with TCU. Kelley compiled 585 kills, 139 digs and 116 total blocks over the last two years. Murphy, a former Ohio State transfer, had 174 kills, 89 digs and 74 total blocks in her first season with the Horned Frogs.
Three more hitters that will round out the attack are McKenzie Berg (sophomore), BYU transfer Blaykli Bobik (sophomore) and Louisville transfer Reese Robins (senior). The 6-foot-5 Robins, listed as an opposite hitter and middle blocker, spent three years with the Cardinals, totaling 286 kills and 132 total blocks. Bobik appeared in 20 matches in her lone season with the Cougars. She amassed 71 kills, 39 total blocks and 17 digs as a freshman. Berg saw action in eight matches and finished her freshman season with 15 kills and eight total blocks.
Middle blocker will be a rebuilding position for the Horned Frogs, who lose three players from last year’s roster including Sarah Sylvester. Sylvester ended her TCU career with 482 total blocks and made 153 total blocks in 2025, second-most in the Big 12 and fourth-most in a season in program history. Alexis Roberson, a former LSU transfer who totaled 258 kills, 161 blocks and 87 digs in two seasons with the Horned Frogs, has transferred to Houston for her final season. Lastly, TCU graduated former Pacific transfer Emily Van Groningen.
To fill those voids, the Horned Frogs may turn to Robins, but they also have BYU transfer Mia Lee, Florida transfer De’Andrea McMillian and two true freshmen (Morgan Holloman and Kinsley Young). Lee played in 50 matches in her three seasons with the Cougars and was named to the All-Big 12 Rookie Team in 2023. She made nine starts in 2025 before suffering a season-ending injury. McMillian redshirted her first year with the Gators.
At setter, TCU brings back Rosemary Archer (senior), but loses graduate transfer Ella Foti. A versatile player, Foti dished out a team-high 679 assists while adding 313 digs, 41 kills and 26 aces. Archer, who transferred in from Pepperdine prior to last season, had 581 assists, 179 digs and 21 aces in her first run with the Horned Frogs. From the transfer portal, TCU brings in sophomore Addy Horner, who played in 26 matches and served up 398 assists at Wisconsin in 2025. Horner added 83 digs, 22 blocks, 19 kills and 19 aces as a true freshman. Reese Wilburn (sophomore) and Josie Valgus (freshman) round out the setters slated to compete this fall.
In the back row, TCU returns top defender Alice Volpe, a junior and the team’s starting libero. Named to the All-Big 12 Rookie Team in 2024, Volpe has totaled a team-leading 784 digs along with 223 assists over two seasons with the Horned Frogs. Also back on defense will be senior Jaylen Clark, who enters her fourth year at TCU. She has posted 130 digs and played in 64 matches over the last three years. Rounding out the back-row specialists is newcomer Molly McCarthy, a redshirt senior who played four seasons at Kansas. McCarthy brings a wealth of experience, as she’s played in 181 sets across 62 matches. She put up 137 digs over 25 matches in 2025.
