Valentina Shevchenko isn’t about Maycee Barber’s trash talk.
This Saturday, Barber takes on Alexa Grasso at UFC Seattle, looking to avenge a 2021 loss to Grasso and extend her winning streak to eight. A win would put Barber right on the cusp of title contention, and ahead of the fight, “The Future” did her best to lay the groundwork for a future title shot, taking shots at Shevchenko’s style as a “point fighter” and ripping her “lack of personality,” saying that Shevchenko owes her entire career to Ronda
Rousey.
This came on the back of Rousey catching Shevchenko with a stray while talking about UFC fighter pay, and while Shevchenko didn’t take too kindly to Rousey firing shots at her, she was perhaps even more unimpressed with Barber, responding to her comments in a social media post on Friday.
“Study history, silly baby! [yawning emoji]
“By the time your “idol” first stepped into the octagon as amateur fighter, I was already World MMA Champion with 7-0 pro record! [skull and crossbones emoji].“
UFC Seattle takes place Saturday night at Climate Pledge Arena.
