The AEW commentators called it a “generational dream match” when the Young Bucks, FTR, and AEW World Tag Team Champions Adam Copeland & Christian Cage fought in a 3-way ladder match tonight (Sept. 26) at All Out.
This match was a callback to Edge and Christian’s famous TLC matches from their WWF days. Needless to say, there were lots of thrilling sequences involving tables, ladders, and chairs. One of the more painful spots saw old man Copeland take this brutal suplex onto a ladder.
Cash Wheeler had very a rough landing himself going through a table, and Dax soon took a 450 splash through a different table.
FTR’s manager Stokely Hathaway made his presence known, taking out the champs with a low blow and powder to the eyes. But when Big Stoke climbed the ladder to grab the belts for his team (?), Cope recovered and sent him crashing through a table all the way outside the ring.
Soon enough there were three ladders set up in the ring with all six wrestlers climbing up at the same time. Matt Jackson fell off his ladder right into FTR’s Shatter Machine finishing move, but Harwood was soon erased from the match with a sick conchairto between the ladders by the champs.
After one last flurry atop the ladder between the remaining stars, the Bucks BTE Triggered Christian down to the mat and grabbed the belts to become the first ever 4-time AEW world tag team champions.
