Noah Cameron threw a complete game shutout, continuing his unbelievable stretch on the mound, as the Royals took the rubber match against the Angels on Sunday afternoon, with a 3-0 win.
Today was game number five of Cameron calling his own pitches, and with the stats backing me up, he’s basically been Cy Young. In those 5 outings, he has thrown 37.2 innings, allowing 13 hits, 5 runs, (3 of those scored after he left the game), 9 walks and 34 strikeouts.
His final line against the Angels was 9 innings,
1 hit (a bloop single), a walk and 8 strikeouts. The local kid has really found something.
Offensively, Jac Caglianone’s hitting streak ended today, but Michael Massey and Bobby Witt Jr. each smashed a solo homer, and Carter Jensen drove in another with an infield single to end a 0-22 stretch.
Massey also finished the day 3-4, wrapping up a good series.
It was another fast game and not much happened outside Cameron being awesome. The Royals finish the trip out west at 2-4. They are 51-74 on the season. They open a 4-game series at home tomorrow against the Athletics. First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m. CT.
