What is the story about?
The Dodgers August has been abysmal, so it’s probably a blessing they don’t play on Monday, the final day of the month. When they boys in blue resume play, they will be back home at Dodger Stadium to host the St. Louis Cardinals for three games beginning on Tuesday night.
September 1 is the first day active roster limits expand to 28 players and 14 pitchers. The Dodgers are expected to get catcher Will Smith back after a week of rehabbing in Triple-A.

on Tuesday. St. Louis hasn’t yet named a starting pitcher for the opener, but the identity of the opposing pitcher hasn’t mattered much anyway given how mediocre the Dodgers offense has been lately.
